Iconic Banksy Artwork for Auction at Bonhams Urban Art Sale
UK based artist Banksy is one of stupidDOPE’s and Flight Of Fancy's favorite street artists. His works like Balloon Girl and Monkey Detonator that started out as street pieces, have been transferred to canvas and exhibited around the world as featured art in many galleries. Much to our joy, Banksy is now offering his work for auction.
Popular Banksy works like Monkey Detonator, HMV Dog, Precision Bombing, Watchtower Collaboration – Blu, and Balloon Girl go on auction for around $16,000 and up. The Banksy set will be sold at Bonhams as part of its Urban Art Sale on 21 September 2011. Find out about specific pieces from Banksy and other Urban Artists for auction Here

Masking Tape Street Art

Everything was done using tape!! Watch the video link by clicking his name in the text. Australian street artist BUFFdiss uses strips of masking tape to create his art. He often makes oversized hands that interact with the environment, but he also has more complicated pieces.

Talent/Art Thursday

Taking an ordinary phone book, Alex Queral carves a face into this object of so many faceless names. With the book, a very sharp X-ACTO® knife, a little pot of acrylic medium to set detail areas and a great deal of talent, Queral literally peels away the pages like the skin of an onion to reveal the portrait within. Once the carving is complete, he will often apply a black wash to enhance the features and then seal the entire book with acrylic to preserve the work. However, he never loses the line registration; and the book remains quite pliable. Site
